wE lOvE sUmMeR!!

Just a few pics from a few of our trips to grannie's this summer!

Addie loves her grandpa!

Addie would rather eat M&M's then look at the camera.

18 month birthday presents from "mam-aw and papa". The kids can officially say gma and gpa in their own little way!

My favorite pic of him!

Cuddling with mommy-LOVE Brady's smile!

Just the girls!

Brady loved playing in the rock pile

This is so fun!

Normally the kids just RUN while they are outside at gma's house. They sat for an hour playing the the dirt and rocks!

I'll show you how to do it grandpa!

Love this little boy!

Guardian Angel

I don't think I'll forget this day for a really long time........

So I'm driving home from Marcus at about 12:15. I  had just turned off of HWY 3 onto a blacktop right by Remsen. As I'm picking up speed and am nearing a farmhouse, in the distance I think I see a little boy standing on the left side of the road. As I get closer (and am driving about 50mph), I see that indeed there is a very small boy, standing only in a diaper, standing inches away from the road.  Panicking, I slam on my breaks and start honking the horn hoping to get him to back up. As I'm slamming on the breaks, a blue van is hauling right towards us.......It happened so fast.... I'm screaming at him to get back and honking my horn and waving at the oncoming van...(if you need a visual..I'm on the right side of the road and the boy is to my left...the van drives right between us).  I don't understand why the van didn't slow down or stop. There was another car that pulled up behind me that was honking too and waving....... Makes me think the idiot in the van was texting or something. (FYI-If you text and drive, I think you're an idiot. Just sayin.)

I closed my eyes and screamed as the van flew by..I opened my eyes to see the little blond haired boy standing in the exact same spot just staring at me. I got out of my car (i was sobbing and shaking) and picked him up and ran a little ways down the lane. I could hear someone screaming but couldn't see anyone. I got in my car and pulled into the driveway. The boy's mother came running and screaming down the lane. He had gotten out of the house and she couldn't find him.  She was hysterical and asked what had happened. I told her that he was literally an inch away from getting hit by the van. We both just stood there and cried.

This darling little blue eyed boy definitely had a guardian angel with him today.

I haven't really stopped thinking about it since I've gotten home....... Definitely still a little shook up. I'm sure that mother is still shaking........

Happy 1/2 Birthday!!!!

18 MONTHS! My littles aren't so little anymore!

I made the kids a cake today and only Addie would eat it. Really boys? They didn't inherit my sweet tooth apparently. We didn't do anything exciting today as it was raining out. Just played in the house all day. We had our friend Laura come for a visit. She was in my 5th grade class this last year and LOVES the kids. She will be our babysitter in a few years for sure.

Nothing really all that exciting going on. Spent 4 days in Marcus at my parent's house this past week/weekend. My sister was home and it's just so fun to play at gram's house! They love playing on their porch, going on bike rides and going to the park across the street. We also went to my cousin's baseball game. We pulled up to the fence and we all sat in the back of dad's pickup. Worked pretty well! For some reason, we have a lot of mosquitos at our house so playing outside here hasn't been so fun. The kids get eaten alive. We would have made a trip to the pool but the boys have ear infections--again. I think they are both up to 3 a piece.

We've had to reschedule 18 month pictures 3 times now. Either weather, snotty noses and sick kids have been the problem. Check back for those soon :)

Many people ask me if they are talking much yet and my answer is not really! Addie says 18 words, Brady says 12 and Colin about 9. I'm sure they will start soon and then I'll want them to stop! They understand everything...especially Addie. We like to throw a fit or 2 or 10 each day but it's not too bad yet! Loving watching them play and interact with each other. Can't believe how old they are...

18 month check-up July 6th! Always anxious for those appointments!

Good Morning. Notice the boys and their blankets...they walk around with them on their shoulders all day long! Usually I don't let them in their high chairs but it's their birthday so I had to!

Brady

This game is called Diaper Head. She thinks it's hysterical.

Notice the size difference! Colin isn't even standing up straight..

Cute! Brady was not cooperating with my photo shoot.

Random

*I took the kids to Walmart this morning for a few things and the lady at the check out asked me if I ran a daycare......... HA.

*And this is why we have the BEST pediatrician and nurse ever...

Colin has had an ear infection since Saturday and had not been doing the best. He was VERY crabby and acted like he was in pain all of the time. Usually after 2 doses of the meds he is fine. This time was different though. Well I had to call our nurse the other day to ask a few things and she is always so nice/concerned. I didn't end up taking him back in because I figured I just had to wait it out.   So my point...I get a phone call today from Prairie Peds. It was our Nurse Sarah and Dr. Beck was standing right there. She was calling to check on Colin. REALLY? Does your nurse randomly call you to make sure your child is ok????? How nice is that?!!  Now that's service!!

Turds...in the tub

It's official. We've had our first tub poop. Guess who? BRADY RYAN. I was bathing all three and thankfully I was done washing hair. I could tell he was going to do it.......I grabbed the other 2 out quickly and grabbed Brady out after his 6th little turd hit the water. YUCK. I guess he wanted to save his mama a diaper and just get it over with in the tub!

Sweet Colin

This picture was taken 10 minutes ago. I went to check on the kiddos quick before settling in for the night and thought this was cute. :) Glad the flash didn't wake him up! (Note the fleece jams-It was FREEZING today! 100 degrees 2 days ago-maybe 70 degrees today!)

Last weekend, my Great-Aunt Linda was home from Arizona to finally meet the kiddos. Spent the day at great-gram and gramps house.

You can't tell by this picture but Brady LOVED LOVED LOVED the mower rides. You could see a huge grin on his face from a mile away!

My grandpa with his 6 great-grandkids! The 2 on the left are 4 year old twins(Natalie and Cooper) and their brother Gavin is the bigger kid on the right! Click on picture to make it bigger.

First pool trip of the summer!

Grandma, Auntie and I took the kids to the Remsen Pool on Saturday. The Marcus Pool is open..but the baby pool is not working........don't get me started on it. Could be 2 weeks until it's ready. Remsen has a nice baby pool and is only a 10 minute drive from Marcus. The kiddos LOVED IT. I was most surprised by Brady. When we got the little pool out a week ago or so, he was a little timid. NOT this time! He went under 4-5 times and didn't seem to mind! The other 2 did great too. Addie liked to socialize with the other kids there and Colin was a good boy too! The plan is to hit up the pool at least 2 times a week all summer long!

Brady needs a swim shirt for his fair skin!

Not a good picture of Brady but wanted to show you my CUTE new suit!!

Gma swinging Colin

This swimming stuff sure is fun!!

Brady's turn!

Summer at Gram and Gramps

On Wednesday, the kiddos spent the night at grannie's house so I could play volleyball and get some things done around the house. They had haircuts Thursday morning in Marcus so it worked out for them to stay the night! We spent Thursday hanging out in Marcus too. Enjoy some pictures! (Click on any of the pictures to see them bigger.)
