Some more 18 month pictures

We had their 18 month pics taken at the end of June at Trinity Heights in Sioux City. I left thinking we didn't even get a good photo! Glad I was wrong! They ran around a lot and rarely looked at the camera. Brady smiled a little, Colin was Mr. Serious the whole time, and Addie had a goofy squinty look!

Smiley!

Always so serious

My kids are cute

Addie was laying with daddy and he looked over at her and she had fallen asleep!

They love to get in a crib together and "jack around" as I call it!

I was in the kitchen and was worried because it was so quiet in the living room.....tired kiddos!

Pooped out

He fell asleep too!

My bestie didn't understand how I took the kids to Walmart/Target alone. I had to show her that I park near a cart rack and throw them all in the cart. I then go inside to find a 3 seater cart! Piece of cake :)

Trip to Eastern Iowa

We packed the kids up and headed 5 hours East after the kiddos 18 month checkup on Thursday. Our last trip to visit Grandpa and Grandma Dunkel was Memorial weekend and the ride out was great. Not so much this time. The kids napped on and off and never slept all together for more than 15 minutes. Lots of whining. I do want to point out that Brady was a rock star. I think I even whispered in his ear that he was my favorite child......

We did have a lot of fun once we got there though! We played outside, swam at the pool, played with the puppy, went out to eat, visitied friends and family and just relaxed! I got to see 4 of my dear friends--I miss Erin B., Erin C., Amanda and Brooke so much!

The ride home was great. The kids slept for 2 hours straight and hardly whined once!

18 month checkup

Kids did great! Everyone is healthy and doing just fine!!

We've mastered many of the things an 18 month old should be doing. The doctor asked if we were saying any 2 word phrases yet...Addie says a few but the boys don't yet. He said we should be looking for them to say 2-4 word phrases in the next 6 months.  He did suggest that at 20 months the kids should be in toddler beds. HA. NOT HAPPENING. I really like Dr. Beck and think his suggestions are great...but NOT THIS ONE! My kids will be in their cribs until they are 4. Ok. Maybe not that old.

He also said we should be looking for the kids to start saying body parts instead of just pointing and also learning to start to dress themselves! We'll see about that!

We had 3 shots and the cries lasted for about 10 seconds each. Not bad. Best part is that we don't get another shot until they are 4. WOOT!

We stood on the scale like big kids and even stood up against the wall to be measured. They aren't babies anymore!!!!!!!

Addison- 24 lbs -----33 inches tall
Brady- 24 lbs. 6 oz --33 1/2 inches tall
Colin- 27 lbs 6 oz ---34 1/2 inches tall!!!

Dr. Beck asked Ryan and I how tall we were and he said Colin is going to be tall! He's in the 90% for height!   Never would have guessed these kids were runts 18 months ago!

4th of July weekend

We had a very busy, but FUN weekend! Such nice weather all weekend long!
Hope you all had a Happy 4th!

Friday-We took the kids out for supper and to my cousin's baseball game in Hinton. The kiddos did awesome and loved playing in the dirt for 3 hours! During the school year, the kids were in bed by 8pm almost every night. Since it's lighter out and we do more things outside after supper, the kids are usually in bed closer to 9pm. I like that they can handle staying up later. Lots to do on a nice summer night!

Saturday-We headed to Marcus in the morning to spend some time with my family. My brother and his fiancee Sarah were home as well as my sister Sam. We rode bikes and took the kids to the pool for an hour. We headed back into Sioux City around 3:30 to eat and do some shopping. We ate pizza at Pizza Hut and the kids did really well. They insist on using forks and actually ate quite a bit of pizza and breadsticks. They are getting pretty good at using utensils! We shopped at Lowe's and Target and headed home around 7pm. It's definitely getting easier to take the kids out and about. Their nap schedule was even off and they were still troopers. Not much fussing at all!

Sunday-Headed back to Marcus for church and lunch at great-grams. We took the kids swimming again and they LOVED it. They love the big pool! Brady likes to jump in and the other 2 just like to splash around! I have a feeling the kids are going to be little fish someday!

Monday- Yep, back to Marcus again! Thankfully it's only a 40 minute drive! Pool and bike rides again. My parents have a big yard and the kids just love to run. The kiddos didn't nap much so we never made it for the fireworks. We headed back to Hinton around 8pm and put the kids straight to bed. We'll be ready for the fireworks next year!

I always love the 4th weekend but it always seems like the 2nd half of summer goes faster than the 1st half. Lots of fun things planned for the rest of the summer which makes it go a little too fast I think! I have something fun to do the last weekend of July and every weekend in August! Bridal showers, relatives visiting, Marcus Fair, Brooke comes home, Bachelorette Parties... WOOT! We LOVE summer in this house!!
(Pictures to come...they were all on mom's camera!)
