Family, Friends and a Little ME Time!

Had a very nice weekend. On Friday, my sister came from Ames to stay with us for the night. We LOVE when she comes! The kids love her and she's a great help. We spent Friday at home playing with the kiddos and took a little trip to DQ for some ice cream!

Saturday was lovely.....I had the entire day to do what I wanted to do! Ryan's family was here so I was off duty from noon until 9pm! Samantha and I went for lunch and had a fun day shopping. Didn't get much for myself but got the kids a few things. I could spend my whole savings at Children's Place! Went to our preseason vball party at cousin Nate and Krista's Saturday night. Lots of GOOD FOOD and GOOD FRIENDS! Anxious for Wednesday night vball to start!

Just a few pics from the weekend!

The kids wore their Hawkeye onesies and Aunt Samantha secretly wished she had a Hawk shirt to match them! Right, Sam?!!

Our little family :)

Colin looks like a giant in this picture...he clearly doesn't miss a meal!

A Little Bit of Everything...

Well, the 2nd night at grandma's didn't go as well as the 1st! Colin slept in the pack and play and decided he wanted to play from 2-5am.....Pack and Play's are meant for naps, NOT sleeping for long periods of time! We had a great time at grandma's house and will do it again soon. I think gma and gpa loved having us over too :) Here are a few more pics we took while we were in Marcus!

Great-grandpa loves Addison!

Thanks for the cool shorts Uncle Jake!

Nothing better then 3 sleeping babies!

Took the kids to the baseball game in Hinton tonight. They LOVED it! They love being outside. I was hoping it would knock them out for the night...and it did! It's 10:30 and Ryan is rocking the last kid to sleep! My plan is to go to every baseball game from now on I think!!

And a few pictures to make you smile!

Sleepin at grams!

90 degree house + 2 grumpy, sweaty parents = sleepin at grams! We turned on the AC on Saturday to find that it didn't work worth a crap! Only blew out pee warm air. We suffered thru Saturday night at home but after spending Sunday at gram's with her AC, we decided I would go back to Hinton and pack everything up so we could stay in Marcus for a few days. What an ordeal trying to pack things for 3 babies for 2 nights. Our SUV was jammed full.....and the kids were already in Marcus. We'll need 2cars to get everything back home!

Our first night was a success!! I was worried it wouldn't go so well...sleeping in a different house, different environment... Just thought the kids might not sleep so great. My grandma has 2 cribs set up and we brought a pack and play. The kids slept GREAT! I made the mistake of sleeping in the same room as Brady......he snores so loud that I was up half of the night. NOT complaining though-way better than sleeping in a 90 degree house!

Here are a few pictures that my grandpa took! (I'll add a few more later!)

Addie and her drool..

Brady and his best friend...grammie!

5 months old!!

Can't believe my babies are 5 months old! 5 months means time to try some veges! The doctor told us to wait until 5 1/2 months...but my babies are HUNGRY! We couldn't wait any longer! We'll start fruits after our 6 month check-up in June.
Colin would have eaten several jars of sweet potatoes if I would have let him! Brady and Addie did great too, but I didn't get a picture.

Brady is constantly rolling over. He rolled onto the play mat and found the mirror today. He smiled and laughed at himself for a few minutes! Too cute!

Addie also rolls all the time. I walked out of the room for a second and came back and found her half stuck under the couch. I think I'll be getting the gates out sooner than later. She's all over the place!

Smiley Girl!

Relaxing with grandma after a fun day of shopping!

Super Gram! She's great at taking on 2 kids at once!

Addie: "Touch me again and I'll punch you."

I've really enjoyed staying at home with the kids these last 5 months and am really looking forward to the next 3 months with them. Summer means it's that much closer to me going back to work in the fall......Already dreading that :( Come visit us this summer! We love visitors!

A Beautiful Day!

Took the kiddos for a walk today. Ryan was home and we thought we'd get the kids out for some fresh air! Definitely ready for 80 degree weather everyday! Many people ask me if we have a triplet stroller. We decided to get a double and a single for 2 reasons. #1. It wouldn't fit in our SUV that we had gotten 1 month BEFORE we found out I was pregnant! Maybe if we hadn't of gotten the SUV, we would have gotten a small bus to haul all of their stuff around! And #2. I figured I wouldn't be brave enough to go anywhere with 3 babies by myself anyway! :)

Brady is ready to go!

Colin loves his shades. He actually wore them for several blocks!

Addie is pretty in her pink shades!

My favorite part of the walk...the naps afterwards!!

Sundays and Sick Kids...

Sunday is probably my favorite day of the week. We pack the kids up and head to Marcus(35 min from Hinton) for the day. We always go to church and go for lunch at either my grandparents or parent's house. Gives me a reason to get out of the house. Sometimes Sunday is the ONLY day I leave the house! Ryan and I usually get to nap and relax while my grandparents and parents play with the kids! We usually get to see Great Uncle Brian and Cousin Charlie while we're there too!

We've gotten a lot more efficient at packing the kids up. We get everything ready Saturday night while the kids are playing....diaper bags packed, carseats ready, clothes layed out, bottles made...Makes Sunday morning a lot less hectic. Glad church doesn't start until 10am!

Not this Sunday though...the kids all have colds so we stayed home. I don't understand how they get sick when we don't even go anywhere! All 3 have stuffy/runny noses but still seem very happy. Colin had a fever but feels better now. I've never sucked so many boogers out with the nose picker thing in my life as I have the last few days. Hoping they all get over it soon.

The last 5 months...in a nutshell

Where do I start? The last 5 months have been crazy. Good, but crazy. The babies have changed so much and life is starting to become a lot easier....

January-March were spent with little sleep. Ryan took 3 weeks off of work (I took 8 MONTHS off of work!) and my mom moved in with us. Yes, my mom LIVED with us from Jan-March. Thank the lord for my mom. Ryan will totally agree. Some of you may think...omg, I could NEVER have my mom or mother-in-law live with me, but I thank God everyday that she did!! She totally put her life and job on hold to take care of us and her grandkids! She rocks. Seriously, she's the best mom ever. She cooked, cleaned and did a lot of laundry. NOT because I ask her to, but because she LIKED to. Strange, I know. She definitely made life a lot easier for us..and still does!

Thank God for April. The kids all started to sleep through the night at the beginning of April. Sleeping through the night means sleeping from 11pm-7am. Unfortunatly, they still refuse to go to bed much before 11, but Addie and Brady are now sleeping till 8 or 9am. Not Colin...7am and he's up! We also decided that we no longer needed mom to stay with us. She still helps out Wednesday-Saturday. My grandma Nancy comes on Monday and Ryan is home on Tuesday since he works Saturday.

May has come and almost gone. The kids are almost 5 months and changing so much. They all roll over, giggle and coo constantly, and have such different personalites.

**Colin is so loud and I think will get in trouble a lot in school for talking. He never sits still either. He was the biggest at birth and still is. I think he's huge but compared to other 5 month olds, he's still small. Come to our house at about 10pm to see Colin in his prime. He comes to life at night! He'll be the partier...
**Brady is quiet and a little shy I think. He would sit with you for hours and just coo! He's a thinker and concentrates hard on a toy before grabbing for it. I think he'll be the smart one and have to help the other 2 with their homework!
**Addie is quiet like Brady but can be sassy. She likes attention and will "yell" when she wants something. I have a feeling she'll be the boss. I wonder who she gets that from. She's kind of a momma's girl..and I love it :)

So yeah, the last 5 months have been great and I'll have to admit, a lot of WORK! But I will say it's been easier than I thought it would be. The kiddos aren't fussy and are very content most days. They are starting to entertain themselves for longer periods of time and I'm anxious for the day that they will entertain each other and I can get more done!

Finally decided to blog...

So when we first found out we were expecting triplets, I started a blog. That lasted for about 2 days. I've been thinking about it for months and finally decided it was time. Many of our friends and family live hours away and I really don't have time to spend hours on the phone updating everyone on our life! I also really enjoy reading a friend's blog--she also has triplets born 6 weeks before ours! So here it goes...
