Memorial Weekend

We loaded up the SUV and headed East for the weekend! This was our first real, long trip. 5 hours to be exact. Aunt Bree was having her graduation party this weekend so we thought this would be the perfect weekend to try traveling with the kiddos.

I started my "things to pack" list about 2 weeks ago. Didn't forget a thing. We all fit in the SUV too...barely! The kids traveled about 10x better than I thought they would. We left at 2pm on Friday and arrived at 7pm. We stopped twice--the first time just so Ryan and I could use the restroom and get a treat. We stopped at a big gas station/Arbys at 5pm and let the kids run around outside. We changed pants, ordered some food and away we went. The kids got to eat Curly Fries, cheetos and M&M's for supper.......lucky kids! Ha. Whatever keeps them happy. I did borrow a DVD player from a friend but never used it. First of all, it didn't work. HA. And we didn't need it anyway. The kids pretty much spent the drive eating or napping.

On Saturday, a few of my friends came for a visit! Amanda came with her son Jack and Brooke came with her two kids, Kami and Bodie! So fun to see them!

Dunkel trips, Jack, Bodie and Kami! A house full!
We then went to Ryan's cousin's wedding reception that afternoon. The kiddos looked so cute! They wouldn't eat the meal (didn't surprise me) but of course snacked on cake and treats. They definitley ate like CRAP all weekend!

Sunday was Bree's graduation.  Rained all morning but was nice weather for her party! Saw lots of family and again, ate a lot of cake. I really think Addie ate a few pieces of each kind! There were many friends/family that had never even seen the kiddos in real life so it was fun for them to see them! We got to see our friends Aaron and Erin Becker (yes, they have the same name and they are married!) and their new baby Josephine! Addie LOVED her and would put her paci in her mouth when it fell out! I think Addie is going to be very motherly!

Pre-party..just chillin!

My friend Molly and her daughter Alaina came to visit Monday morning! I taught with Molly at Seton. It was very nice to see her and little Alaina! We ended up heading out at 11. Kids slept for the first 1.5-2 hours. They did pretty well on the way home. Stopped after about 3 hours and let them play in a park for 20 minutes. Made it home in 5 hours again. Not bad. We were all restless by the end of the trip and ready to be home in our own beds!  Congrats to Bree on her high school graduation!!!
